A great day out at the kart show ,and the opportunity to collect my trophys on stage

I am starting to get to grips with this unusual track.A 1st and 2nd in the heats gives me second on the grid for the final.We arrive on the dummy grid and everybody but me and the polesitter are on wets.Dad say’s try to hold on for a couple of laps untill the grip comes in. I lose a couple of places at the start,but on lap 3 the grip arrives and I move up to second,My kart is definately the fastest on track,I come home in second place 0.07 seconds behind the leader,Another lap or two i could have won.Not bad considering I have been over the weight limit by 3kg all day.

Another new circuit to learn.

Covkart winter series is great to learn new circuits because of the 15 minute practice/qualifying session.

 QUALIFYING

 A couple of additional drivers arrived for this round,both looking fast,I find the size of the Karts hard work on my arms.I just about grab pole position(and the bonus points)

RACE

I line up on pole ,the lights go out,and i’m off .I come out  of the first corner in the lead.the red flag comes out and we all stop.someones kart has stalled at the start.We all line up again and wait for the lights.My turn to blow the start and I drop to third,I take second place down the straight to the third corner.I catch first place and just after the start line the leader goes wide,i nip down the inside and take the corner.It took a long time to shake 2nd and 3rd off,but eventually give myself about half a short sthraight lead.After throwing the last race away I settle for a gap and try to maintain It.I come in first but only by a few seconds,And no fastest lap bonus point this time out(only 0.04s seperated the fastest 3)

I now lead the series going into the last round ,but the competition has got tougher.                

Congratulations to Harry Macaulay for passing daytona training and joining me as being classed as an advanced driver

Harry even held the lap record for a short period.He has been round daytonas north circuit faster than I ever have(Time for some Daytona practice)And is apparently very eager to teach me a lesson around there.

I had a good qualifying session in the wet on slicks .I manage to qualify on pole position (and secure a point for pole)
I start the race on pole,have a good start,and gradually pull away.Then disaster on lap 2 ,I catch a rear wheel on some standing water and I’m off . I finish in fourth place for 7 points but I get the bonus point for fastest lap,A few lessons learn’t there(when in the lead pace myself)
Both the bonus points help put me second in the championship,just a single point off the lead

I was invited to a novice cup televised race, when I turned up there was 7 novice drivers there.

When I first went out onto track it was really slippy (green track)and I was only able 56 second lap-times.

When we  had are practice start (standing) i was starting last and Max Kenney was on pole with NO LEAD !!!!!!

In to the first corner i was into 2nd and right on the bumper off Max I managed to overtake him  but as he was 10kg lighter he overtook me down the straight.

When it came to the real race I was starting 7 th out of 8.

On the start some of the drivers got caught napping and I gained 4 places and on the first lap Max kenney span and was last .

After five laps i had to come in for a pit stop i came in 2nd but Liam stalled coming in and we were all bunched up in the pits.

After a very impressive pit stop by my dad only when every one else had 4 mechanics and got me out in 3rd.

Behind Jack and Aron Campbell (Darren Campbell  the Olympic sprinters son)after 4 laps i caught them.

With half a lap to go i made a lunge down the inside and made the move stick and won the race !!!!

On my victory lap my wheel come of and i come but i luckily had finished the race .

I shall up date my blog when its on TV .

After 2 good qualifiying sessions ,I unfortunately lose my points in heat 3 for being 0.5kg underweight

I also lost my best lap time of 54.13seconds.

I qualified 3rd novice but manage to overtake very early to secure the novice cup with ease
